Cialis use
Cialis is an oral medication prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) also referred to as male impotence. Cialis works by relaxing muscles in the penis, stimulating the blood flow into the shaft, which results in stronger more durable erections.
Taking Cialis
Cialis should be taken only before sexual intercourse, not on a regular basis. The time after the pill will take effect varies from man to man, but is usually not more than 30 minutes. However there were some cases when it took over 36 hours for a man to feel the effects of the pill. Taking Cialis won;t result in erection on its own, you'll have to be sexually stimulated in order to achieve an erection.
Missed dose
Cialis should be taken in a single dose only when required. Do not take a double dose.
Cialis potential side-effects
There are no usual side-effects with Cialis so if you experience strange symptoms after taking the pill you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. Your doctor will decide whether it is safe for you to continue taking Cialis or not. Report about the following symptoms if they occur: arm, leg or back pain, flushing, headache, indigestion, muscle pain, nasal congestion
Cialis warnings and precautions
In case you have a heart problem that makes sex dangerous you should avoid using Cialis. If you experience cardiac symptoms (dizziness, nausea, and chest pain) during sex after taking Cialis, stop and contact your doctor as soon as possible.
In case you suffer from serious kidney or liver issues, bleeding disorders, stomach ulcer, or an inherited retinal disorder such as retinitis pigmentosa, exercise extreme caution when taking Cialis. It is not known how it acts in such circumstances.
Some cases of priapism (prolonged and sometimes painful erection) have been reported with drugs similar to Cialis. If you have a strong erection lasting for more than 4 hours seek medical attention immediately, because it may result in damage to the penis and impotence.
Recommended dosage
Cialis comes in a range of doses from 5 milligrams to 20 milligrams. The right dosage corresponds to your individual situation, however it is recommended to start with 10 milligrams of Cialis.
Overdose
When larger doses of Cialis (up to 500 milligrams) are taken the patient will experience the same side-effects that are possible with lower doses. However taking any medication in excess can be harmful to your body, so you should seek medical attention as soon as possible in case you suspect an overdose.
